It is said, in the beginning there was light. My own beginning started decades ago (*ahem*, we won’t go further into that), in a small town far, far away from where I am now. Within that beginning I was introduced to the fine art of wood working, specifically cabinet making, and some furniture making. Later down the road I accompanied by mother to many garage sales, estate sales and flea markets as she worked to learn the world of “Picking” and antiques. I dare to say my mother did well for herself over the years, and many of the items I see today often bring memories of her home filled with the same objects at one time or another. Which leads me to today. For years I have enjoyed restoration and antique shows, often feeling an internal tug, but stayed with the grind of various office type jobs and whatnot. For a time I even did freelance work, which I did well with, until the markets became flooded with talented artists and programmers, then I decided to head back to nine-to-five work.
Fast forwarding to this moment, I have spent the last week or more preparing for this post, without actually thinking of how to start it all off to Wow and Mesmerize the masses. The point of all of this, is for my personal enjoyment of itching that internal tug, and for the future of not only myself, but my family in earning extra funds as well as teaching bits of history with each new historical find.
That is all the writing for this moment… there is much work to still be done!
